Friends of Roch School are a group who meet regularly to organise fundraising events; primarily for the pupils’ enjoyment, but with the additional aim of raising money to boost the limited resources of the school.

Community
We believe it is important for the whole community of the School to work together to obtain the best outcomes for the children.
We try to involve and support as many local businesses as possible and we are always grateful for their support for us.
Events
We organise a wide variety of events across the school year, including:
- Bingo
- School discos
- Cake stalls
- Raffles
- The Summer Fair
- The annual Christmas Bazaar
Funds
The funds raised by the Friends are spent on the ‘extras’ that are not provided for in the school budget.
We regularly fund coaches for trips and visiting musicians, authors etc.and also undertake extended fundraising to assist the school in funding larger projects.
In the year 20/21, we were delighted to be able to give £10,000 to the school for the replacement of the playground ‘trim trail’; a much loved feature of all the children in Roch School. Work is expected to get underway in October 2021; keep an eye on the Friends Facebook group for updates!
How you can help
We can only continue to function with the much appreciated help of the whole school community. There are several ways you can support us:
1. Amazon Smile and Give as You Live
The Friends are a registered charity, and as such we are eligible for charitable donation schemes. This means you can raise funds for the school when you shop with certain online retailers.
Give as You Live is an app that has over 4,500 retailers listed; sign up with them and every time you shop through the app you will raise valuable funds for us! Sign up here

2. The 100 Club
The school 100 Club has been running for several years. For just £1 a month, you have the chance to win £25 in a monthly prize draw. Payment can be set up by monthly direct debit so it’s an easy and convenient way to support the school. Contact us via friendsofrochschool@gmail.com if you’d like to grab a lucky number!
3. Join us!
If you are a parent or family member of a child in school, or a member of the local community who would like to be involved in helping us raise funds for the school, would like to contribute ideas during meetings or who would just like to be able to keep up-to-date with what the Friends are doing, please get in touch via the Facebook group or by emailing friendsoffrochschool@gmail.com.
